BRAVO / 48 Hour Esophageal pH Monitoring Preparation

You should not take any solid food for 8 hours before the procedure.
Stop drinking all fluids (including clear liquids and water) 4 hours prior to the procedure. 
This examination requires that you have an empty stomach.

Your gastroenterologist will tell you whether to continue or stop any acid-reducing medications that you may be taking.

Other medication adjustments, such as insulin or cardiac medicines, should be discussed with your primary care physician before the procedure.

You should also inform us if you are taking Coumadin, as this may interfere with the performance of this test.
